3 c Sugar
10 Nectarines; pitted and cut

-in wedges (up to 12)
1/2 c Opal and green basil leaves;

-julienned

Cook water and sugar in medium saucepan and cook over med heat until liquid
is clear. Add fruit, heat on high just to boil. Add basil. Cover and
refrigerate immediately. Chill for about 3 hours.
